I-Pension uses two different fee structures for our clients depending on the type of account being managed.
For company-sponsored 401(k), 403(b), and 457 retirement plans, we charge a flat fee of $1.00 a day ($365 per year) for accounts over $40,000, and $.50 a day ($182.50 per year) for accounts under $40,000 in assets.
We also offer a discount for managing a second retirement plan for a client's spouse:
That's it. There are no set-up charges, administrative fees, or any other expenses. You'll be billed annually on the account anniversary date.
Accounts outside of employer-sponsored plans will be charged 1.0% (or 100 basis points) annually based on total account assets. For example, a $100,000 account would be charged $1,000 annually. The prorated fee will be deducted directly from your account quarterly.
Any brokerage commissions and service fees for trades made in your account will also be deducted from your account as they are incurred. Investment accounts are serviced by Charles Schwab. These expenses are charged by Schwab directly to your account; I-Pension does not mark-up or benefit from these charges in any way. Because I-Pension's methodology does not include frequent trading, these transaction fees are estimated to be minimal.
It's also important to note that I-Pension does not sell commission-based products or earn 12b-1 trail commissions. Whenever possible, we try to utilize low-cost investment options like index funds and exchange traded funds (ETFs) to limit your portfolio's total expense.
